Cuzco City

It has more than 3000 years of antique. It is considered theoldest city in America. Cusco is converted in an historic centreofstudy and in the touristic place most important of the city.
Pre-ceramic that belongs to Yauri men and Chumbivilcas with an approximately age of 5000 years bC.

In the Formative period the city began to be habited from the Watanay Valley orCusco Valley, 1000 years ago Marcavalle was the elected place to stay.

This city was located in the western side of the city.

800bC. It was develop the Chanapata culture and on the  Regional States region.

The beginning of the inca civilization was on the year 1200 aC. And its expansive time on the year 1400 aC.

The 15th of  November of 1533 the Spanish came and with the fall of the empire.

On this sacred Valley is located the empire impressing a fort called Saqsaywaman, of the biggest building of the Incas.

The valley is between Pisac and Ollantaytambo population.

The walk begins on the Archeological Park of Saqsaywaman. This park with 3000 hs of extension islocated on the north of the city of cusco and it has the following archeological monuments: Saqsaywaman, the incas called it “Casa del Sol” and the Spanish “La Fortaleza”; Quenqo, old ceremonial center, Puca Pucara dedicated to water and Laqo, Lanlakuyoc and Cusilluchayoc, centers of ceremony.

Cusco has got mysterious streets that makes it “sacred”. It has survived to time and the magic in which visitors fall in love. Many people decide to stay here.

Geographic Location and Weather

The Sacred Valley isE located at 15 km at the north of Cusco. Its heigh is 2800 m above sea which brings it a nice weather. It has 2 seasons: rains and dryness.

The wet time is between November and April. It rains all time. On this time the mountains are green and the temperature is warm. On  nights is very cold and can cool more. The sky full of stars is an spectacular view.

The Sacred Valley has a very nice weather and you can stay well of health.

You will never get hot because a nice breeze blows here.

It was “founded” the 24th of July of 1911 by the northamerican explorer Hiram Birgham. Bingham studied too much about thelegends of the llacta of Victos or Viticos. The last refugee of the rebeld Incas to the Spaniards in the Vilcabamba jungle. In 1906 he travels by the way Buenos Aires=Cusco. When he arrives to Cusco he has a big interest to the Inca City (Vitcos) and the Vilcabamba valley. There he was informed that there was a “lost” cityon the mountain.

He returns to the USA happily for the discovery to have more money for the continuing with its exploration and he had the helpness of the National Geographic Society and the yale university. Many friends and parents also help him with the funds.

On January 1911, Mr. Braulio Polo y la Borda, owners  of the farm Echarati,located in Mandor, La Convencion, Cusco. Giescke who knew Bingham plans writed him telling about this. One important thing in 1880 “Perou et Bolivie. Recit de Voyage, survi d’etudes archaeologiques et etnografhiques et des notes sur léscriture el las lengues des population indiennes”. On 1911 Bingham comes to Vilcabamba valley and hires the services of the guide Melchor Arteaga. The 24th of july they arrive to the top of the mountain called Macu Picchu.

Atfer this first contact with Machu Picchu, Bingham talks with Giesecke who tells this event to Jose Cosio, secretary of the University San Antonio Abad of Cusco. This last one  communicated with Enrique Palma, who said that has visited this place 10 years ago (1902). He said he had to pay 12 Soles de Oro to the owner of th Hacienda Cutija. On 1912 the owners of that places were Mr and Mrs Arteaga y Lizarraga, the first one was the person who guided Bingham on 1911.

When Mach Picchu was founded, Bingham hires in the USA some archeologusts and anthropologists to excave the place. The objects founded  were  delivered to the USA, by the allowance of the Peruvian Government. At the end of 1911 there was an insurrection of Mollendo, because they didn´t want the archeological objects get out of the country On 1912 this events were repeated, including the cities of Puno, Arequipa  and Mollendo.

Machu Picchu is the symbol  by excellence of th Inca civilization. The Real Way was  the “Inca Way”

The Inca Way is the most picturesque of the world, because it has a natural beautifullnes and non forgettable views that include many ecological areas. There are more than 250 species of orchids, also many types of birds, animals and reptiles, including many species  considered on extintion danger.

Walking along this antique Inca way ,you will have the opportunity    to visit the buildings never founded by the Spaniards, many of them covered by vegetation, so you´ll think you are discovering it.

The travel of this “andina way” is really a fascinating experience and unforgettable.The Inca way, with many stairs, is constructed by big adoquines, it has tunnels digged on stone and wood bridges to cross the small rivers.

The Inca Way or Machu Picchu is part of an extend way system inca, that has more than 23.000 kms. That conformed the empire Tawantinsuyo (four Regions), that covered meridional Colombia, Occidental Brasil, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, The center of Chile and the north of Argentine.

On our days the most important adventure of the inca´sworld is tofollow the Inca´s way on their trips, the Inca way or Machu Picchu, “The lost city of the Inca´s” or Choquequirao.
